It has been a while since our last post on this mailing list and it's time for some updates. News Updates: Considering Open Source We are actively considering taking the project open source and would like your input. http://forum.addressbookserver.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=160 Community Forum We have added a community forum to allow for discussion of any issues and provide a platform for the community to support itself, as well as discuss any Address Book Server related topics. WIKI pages We also added a WIKI to the project to cover configuration aspects not covered in the manual. in particular the Mail Merge section may be of interest to some users. Joining the development team If you are a Java, C/C++ or Objective C developer and would like to contribute to the project please contact us. There are many aspects and features that could be added to the project and any assistance would be fully appreciated. Suggestions for other projects If you have a need or suggestion for other projects and would like somebody to develop an app to make your live easier please contact us as well. These can be related to Address Book Server, but could also be something complete different. Currently outstanding issues: H2 database update Since December 2009 we have updated the version of H2, the embedded database to keep it up to date. This has fixed some older issues with backups, but has introduces some new ones. The next release will again contain an update including the latest fixes to the database. If you are affected by any database issues please contact support who will be able to assist you restore a backup, or repopulate your server. It may be a good idea to enable the automatic backup feature (Instruction on the WIKI : http://trac.addressbookserver.com/trac/wiki/Backups) Null error during synchronisation Some users have reported a null error during synchronisation. So far we have not been able to reproduce this, but have implemented some fixes for potential issues which could cause this.
